Alapere Road is a major feeder route in Kosofe Local Government Area (LGA). The road also serves as a bypass route for vehicular traffic coming from Third Mainland Bridge, connecting to Ketu-Mile 12 and Ikorodu Road, in Lagos State.

This stretch of road which had an average road width of 8.7metres and is about 1.4 Km in length from Alapere Junction (at the Third Axial Road end) to Alapere Roundabout (Agboyi Ketu end), was generally in a deplorable condition with potholes at several portions, open drains and lack of designated walkway and lay-by.

The popular road was usually inundated with traffic congestion and delays as a result of a number of factors, ranging from poor pavement condition, blocked drainage, flooding of the carriageway during downpour, poor junction geometry, on-street parking, street trading and encroachment by traders, misuse of public transport infrastructure, uncoordinated park activities, etc.

Planet Projects Limited was commissioned to develop a solution to address the traffic problem and upgrade the environment. The company  conducted extensive traffic studies, and developed, implemented a comprehensive transport solution.
